Moxie Monday: Sweet Day Cheat Day

You might be asking yourself why on earth is Mallory posting about a cheat day? I am sharing this post because I want to be as real with you in my blogs as I am in my day to day life. I don’t know how but I was blessed a life without a sweet tooth. If people are eating cake, ice cream or chocolate I almost always opt out. Put some french fries within a mile of me and I will sniff them out and eat them. I do eat pretty healthy in my day to day life, ever since my weight loss journey and changing from my unhealthy habits I have a craving for good things in my life and in my stomach. I do have to tell you that once every 4-6 months I get an incurable craving for junk food. I am going to share with you what I eat on those crazy junk food days. P.S. Nobody does cheat day like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. If you are feeling curious check out one of his cheat day videos they are truly epic!

My typical every day eating consists of the following.

Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with cheese, jalapeños and salsa with a large cup of black coffee.

Lunch: 1 chicken breast with half of a bagged chopped salad with extra toppings of cheese, almonds, avocado or a boiled egg. I really only drink water and coffee throughout my day.

Dinner: Steak with a large  side of vegetables. Or my latest favorite is a thick burger with jalapeños and cheese with all the toppings.

Dessert: I make homemade popcorn almost every night with cheyenne pepper and Himalayan pink salt.

Snacks: I eat bananas with peanut butter and honey. Celery with peanut butter. Any fruits, veggies or cheese sticks that we have on hand.

Now that you understand what I like to eat on a regular basis lets get into the crazy sweet  day cheat day foods that I eat. I am going to post pictures that show what I had on my last three cheat days.

I had a crazy cheat day that consisted of McDonalds cheeseburger, McChicken sandwich, large fries, soda and an M&M McFlurry. That evening I purchased some gummy worms and peach rings.

One of my craziest cheat days was filled with nerds rope, strawberry sweettearts ropes, 10 soft frosted cookies, and home made cupcakes. Yes that is a plural on the cupcakes, as in 4 of them with homemade butter cream frosting.

Earlier this month I had a wild hankering for ice cream. I am not exaggerating when I say that I filled my bowl with nearly half of a gallon of butter pecan and rocky road. I topped it off with my usual bowl of popcorn too.

The reason that I want to share all my crazy cheat days is to let others know that living a happy and healthy life means finding your balance. I do not keep myself from enjoying different food when I want it but I worked on changing my body and my life so much that I now crave good things on a regular basis. Life is about having some crazy moments as well as being hard working, stead fast and passionate. Although I show it through food in this post, life is full of bad things but when you focus on the good long enough those bad things become smaller and occurs less often. Don’t get me wrong, I am never going to live a life without cupcakes, because I like them when I have a craving for them. In turn a life without the crap moments or circumstances doesn’t make us a person of character or growth. Without those trials and tribulations (cupcakes and cheeseburgers) we would never have to dig deep to find our strength to push through the  trying times to get to the good. We would always find ourselves living a mundane and unremarkable life.
