Thursday is Thanksgiving! I am so excited. I love cooking turkey and making all different sides. It is one of the few times of the year that I bake my family recipe cheesecakes. I really enjoy asking others what they are thankful for in their life. It may seem cliche to ask each family member or friend what three things they are thankful for on Thanksgiving, but it is something that my husband and I ask each other every week or so. We believe in keeping a positive attitude in our day to day life and checking in with one another to see what we are grateful for. When you focus on good things it lifts your mood, changes your outlook on life and keeps yourself extremely positive.
What are some of your Thanksgiving traditions? Do you always eat similar foods? Do you have a family Thanksgiving and a friend one? Do you play games after dinner? Does everyone sit around and talk? What is your favorite part of Thanksgiving?
I love cooking for Thanksgiving. We usually have family over between lunch and dinner. It gets cold and dark here on Thanksgiving day so we start a little early. Everyone brings a side and we sit at our massive table and eat. While we eat everyone answers the question of “what three things are you thankful for”. After the meal is over we have coffee brewing and chairs all set up in our living room where we all gather to talk. The moment we feel capable of eating again we pull out all the desserts and serve them up. We sip hot coffee and munch on cheesecakes and pies while enjoying each other’s company. When the night is coming to an end we make up some tupperware with all different foods in them so that each family can take some Thanksgiving dinner home with them for later. When everyone has gone home Craig and I tackle the dishes and get the house back in order. We usually top off the night by snuggling on the couch with a warm fire burning and a good movie. Next stop………… Christmas!!!!!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!!!!!!!!
